A suspected Boko Haram bomber has allegedly attacked a mosque opposite UNIMAID with a group of Muslims having their early morning prayers.
The incident occurred in the early wee hours of Tuesday, January 31st, 2016 few days after a recent incident that happened within the university premises, which cut short the life of a professor of veterinary medicine, Professor Aliyu Mani, and others.
Daily Trust reports that the male suicide bomber went into the mosque located in Dalori quarters opposite the university and detonated the improvised explosive device while the worshippers observed their prayers.
An unstipulated number of people were killed in the attack which was confirmed by the spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Sani Datti as stated in the report.
"There was a reported case of explosions at Dalori quarters, Maiduguri, Borno State. Our Search and Rescue officers are already on their way to the scene, detail later," said Datti.
Sahara Reporters also stated that the incident caused the instant death of three worshipers.
