Ntel released new tariffs for Smartphone Unlimited 4G data plans
It's just a year ago that it was commercially launched in Nigeria, a promising 4G LTE operator that smartphone users wishes to do business with. Unfortunately, they have failed to meet up with most people's expectation as initially hyped.

Last year, Ntel announced tariffs for its Smartphone Unlimited data plans and people like me presumed that it's because they are just starting, but now I don't even understand them again. Guess I am now confuse.

Ntel has again modified their unlimited data tariffs, is it downward or upward review: Find below modified and new unlimited data tariffs listed:

Smartphone Unlimited Monthly: upward review from N10,000 to N12,500. 30-day validity

Smartphone Unlimited Weekly: upward review from N3,000 to N3,750. 7-day validity

Smartphone Unilimited Lite: upward review from N1,000 to N1,500 weekly. 2-day validity

Ntel had introduced the these unlimited plans in the year 2016 in form of promo, three month promo to pull more customers but later kept the promo running for more the planned three month.

Knowing well that Ntel unlimited data plans are not capped, there is what they called a daily usage threshold, that is, at a point, your connection get throttled.

However, the fair usage policy did not categorically state what their threshold is. The original fair usage policy actually stated that during peak periods each day, any customer who has reached a total volume of 3 GB will be slowed down and penned down to 512bps.

MTN has introduced a new tariff plan which it call XtraValue plan where all XtraValue bundles will be moved to.

The main reason for this introduction is to harmonize all XtraValue bundles (XtraTalk + XtraData) into a single plan.
XtraValue in Summary:
All Customers with any type of XtraValue subscription will be migrated to XtraValue plan.
Prepaid customers who wishes to purchase any XtraValue bundle will have to migrate to XtraValue plan before being able to subscribe.

Customers on any Prepaid tariff plan will be able to purchase XtraValue bundle after launch but they will be automatically migrated to XtraValue plan after successful purchase.

Postpaid customers will still enjoy XtraValue bundles as add-on on their respective plans pending when XtraValue plan postpaid is created.

Customers on MTN XtraValue plan will be able to enjoy all MTNN products and services as well as any ongoing promotion, campaign or offer as defined by the Business.

Once a customer with active XtraValue bundle migrates out of XtraValue plan to any other tariff plan, s/he should NOT be able to use the bundle on the new tariff plan AND when the expiry of the bundle is reached while the customer is not on XtraValue plan, the bundle will NOT auto renew on that plan.

Customers will NOT be charged the normal N100 migration fee for migrating into MTN XtraValue plan at any time, only the bundle fee will be deducted.

However, Customers will be charged a N100 migration fee for migrating out of the MTN XtraValue plan within 30 days after first free migration.
