APC didn’t promise to fix Nigeria in one year – Amechi

The former Rivers State Governor, Director General of the Campaign Organisation of APC during the 2015 general election and the current minister of Transport, Mr Rotimi Chibuike Ameachi Monday said APC
government never promised to fix Nigeria’s problem within a year and told those waiting for sudden change that they will have to wait till the end of the tenure in 2019 for the desired change on economic matters.

Ameachi hit out at the National Assembly for stopping the Federal Government from fixing infrastructure problems and creation of jobs for the masses after rejecting it’s plan to borrow.

He said “no nation has ever survived religious war”. A statement similar to that of the minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who cautioned Nigerians against ultrances that could lead to religious disharmony.

Ameachi who addressed some set of people in Ilorin at a north central town hall meeting for the people of Kogi, Niger and Kwara-the host state said, the federal government can hear the lamentation of Nigerians that things are difficult but they will have to wait till 2019 before they could cast their judgement on this current administration's performance.

He stated, ”We did not promise you that those challenges will be solved in one year,if we promise you that those challenges would be solved in one year you would have given us one year but you gave us four years mandate so wait till the end of four years before you can conclude that we have not done well”.
