How to activate Whatsapp two-step verification

Last time, it was facebook with two-step verification, now the facebook company has incorporated new security measure into one of the most popular mobile instant messaging app, Whatsapp.

The two-step verification feature is now available to every of its Android, iOS, and Windows Phone users. This security feature was initially made available to only beta users, but has now officially been made available to all users.

If you wish to use this feature, You must first create a six digit pass-code which will be a requirement for verification of your phone number during installation and verification of the app on a new device.

How to activate the two-step verification feature on your phone:

♧ Go to Settings 
♧ Tap on Account

♧ Tap on Two-step verification 

♧ Tap on Enable.


♧ Type in your desired pass-code and you will asked to verify it, then retype.


There is an option of adding email address for resetting the pass-code incase the user you forget it. If wish not to add one, tap on skip to move forward. It's optional as earlier said but it's highly recommended.

Though, you will be asked to verify the email but WhatsApp may be unable to verify the accuracy of the email address you typed, so ensure proper visual confirmation of the email address entered before tapping next to finish.
