According to EL Confidencial report, Real Madrid have agreed to sell their internet rights, it said to be an astounding €500 million deal.
El Confidencial says The Club’s President, Florentino Perez has sealed an agreement in standard with the American fund Providence Equity Partners by which Real Madrid would sell their internet image rights for the next ten years in the amount of €500 million.
The recent Deloitte Money League report was
said to be the Perez motivation for making this big deal. Perez has been desperate to improve the club’s finances as part of re-election campaign which will take place at the end of the season.Los Blancos plans to take advantage of its website popularity which receives four times the traffic enjoyed by Barcelona. And, even more than that of Manchester United.
At the same time, the Spanish club are keen to bring in additional revenue without having to deal with bank debt here and there.
Providence Equity Partners already own a 25% share of the MLS internet image rights and are again in negotiation with Real Madrid for another one.
The aftermath of the deal will make Real Madrid the richest club in the world.
