Deaf and dumb Boko Haram suspect apprehended with 8 mobile phones

Nigerian troops claim they have detained a dumb and deaf alleged Boko Haram terrorist who was in control of eight mobile phones.

According to Vanguard, because of his claimed of disability, his name, origin and age could not be determined for now.

Brigadier Sani Usman said: “However, he was found to be in possession of eight functioning mobile telephone handsets, bunch of keys, two passport photographs, two amulet charms and a transistor radio.”

Also, another Boko Haram terrorist, 45-year-old, Makinta Ibrahim, has been apprehended. Makinta was said to be the supplier of petrol and other goods to the rest of the insurgents.

He was arrested at Bay emeritus village in Yobe state.

The army spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, confirmed the arrest in a statement, on Thursday, said the suspect came from Yaro Grematalti Yunusari Local Government Area, Yobe State.

He said: “Both suspects are being further investigated.”

Usman also said that nine alleged Boko Haram terrorists from Tambashe village, Dikwa Local Government Area, Borno, willingly submitted to troops deployed along Dikwa-Gulumba Gana road.

He said: “While some unscrupulous elements in the society are conniving with remnants of Boko Haram terrorists to continue to commit atrocities, the reality is dawning on the terrorists in the northern part of Borno state.

“Two days ago, nine key Boko Haram terrorists from Tambashe village, Dikwa local government area, voluntarily surrendered to troops deployed along Dikwa-Gulumba Gana road.

“The suspects claimed to be tired of the situation under the Boko Haram terrorists group and willingly offer themselves to troops as a mark of repentance.”
