President Buhari congratulates Obasanjo in a phone call

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on his 80th birthday.

According to a statement released by Femi Adesina who is President Buhari's special assistance on media, in a phone call from UK, where the President is currently resting, told Obasanjo that a time like this provides opportunity to reflect on Obasanjo's invaluable roles and contributions to the national unity and the cohesion of Nigeria, the brotherhood of all Africans, as well as peace and amity globally.

President Buhari described Obasanjo as a true citizen of the world. Also, tried to bring back memories of yester years during their days in the military.

Buhari said: "Those of us who served under you in various capacities recall a man with boundless energy, with razor sharp mind, and one who does not suffer fools gladly. Working with you was a school in itself, and the lessons learnt are worth their weight in gold.”

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo also wished President Buhari good health, saying he joins hands in prayers with him, for quick recovery and to return soon for the continuation of his good work he has started for the country.
