The Two Biafra agitating sets, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB and the Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, have called on the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris, to direct the Ebonyi state Police command to return all its possessions that were illegally moved from its premises during a raid in 2013.
According to Vanguard, the call was made on behalf of the group by one of their arrow head in Ebonyi state, Nwifuru John.
John listed the items that were seized by the police, which includes: the sum of ₦250,000, MASSOB ID cards, 48 plastic chairs, six pairs of MASSOB boots and uniforms.
John also accused the police of consistent intimidation, pestering and illegal arrest and imprisonment of associates of MASSOB in the state.
He said: “As freedom fighters, no amount of persecution and intimidation would deter the group from pursuing its core objective of actualizing the sovereign state of Biafra in the near future.”
The Biafran agitator leader further alleged that the police keeps disobeying the court verdicts, which are the order to pay a compensation of N2 million and N5 million respectively as compensations to the group.
He referred to the group as a peaceful organization pondering why the police was in the practice of flouting court orders relating to it.
Meanwhile, DSP Jude Madu, who is the police public relations officer in Ebonyi, claimed the police had no knowledge of such seizure of MASSOB properties.
