| Ministers at FEC meeting |
Again! President Muhammadu Buhari was found missing at the Federal Executive Council (FEC), meeting today, April 26, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Vice-President Prof Yemi Osinbajo presided the meeting following the absence of the president.
Daily Trust reported that the cabinet waited the arrival of the president until around 11.00am, when the Presidential Villa's chief of protocols suddenly appeared and whispered to Osinbajo.
A security agent had also anxiously stood behind the president's official seat in expectation of the his attendance.
The Vice-President apparently started the meeting some minutes after 11am with a call for the national anthem recitation, followed by prayers by the Ministers of Education, Adamu Adamu and that of Health, Isaac Adewole.
As soon as the meeting started, some ministers appears to be surprised by the absence of President Buhari and were seen curiously whispering to know what could have been the problem
The cause for the president’s absence from the meeting is yet to be officially confirmed as at press time.
Tellforceblog also gathered that the venue of the meeting was also scanty with just about 16 present out of 36 Ministers, it means upto 20 of them were absent.
Recall that the president's health have started generating rumours across the country when he was also absent for the same meeting last week, April 19. Though, the minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, claimed there was nothing to worry about.
In another news, the acting secretary to the government of the federation, Dr Habibat Lawan, who replaced the suspended Babachir David, was in attendance, according to Vanguard.
Recall that Lawan became acting SGF after the suspension of Lawal who is currently under investigation for allegedly mismanaging funds meant for the development of the northeast.
