Recently, the report of domestic violence in the popular Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe's home went viral online. Although, her husband tends to refute the report.

The attack on the actress happened on Easter Sunday, so she has had enough time for the wounds to heal.

In a new speculation, the government of Lagos State may prosecute Mercy's husband, Lanre Gentry following her accusation laid against him at the Lagos Ministry of Women Affairs for the alleged battery. The state agency which responsible for domestic violence has commenced investigation into the matter.

A top source from the agency revealed: “The case is with us. It was reported here by the victim herself, and because of the governor’s zero tolerance for domestic violence, we are as a matter of urgency investigating the whole drama.

"It is a good thing that it has also been brought to the public eye. We’re still very much on top of the matter and we’ll get it to its logical conclusion."
