Manchester United Football Club has took to its Twitter handle to pay tribute to the family of the thirty football fans who got electrocuted while watching one of UEFA Europa League quarter-final game,  Manchester United versus Anderlecht yesterday, April 20, 2017.


Below is the statement issued via its Twitter page;

"Our thoughts go out to the United fans, their friends and families affected by the tragedy in Calabar, Nigeria, yesterday."

2017 Easter Sunday became a bloody type following a report of unknown gunmen who allegedly attacked Asso community in Jema'a Local Government Area of Kaduna State on the eve of Easter.
Atleast 13 people reportedly to be Christians were said to have been killed. The cause of the attack still remains unknown, however it's believed to be related to the Southern Kaduna violence which involves the Fulani Herdsmen and local farmers.

The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai released a statement through his spokesperson, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, condemning the terrible action and extended his condolence message to the families of victims while assuring them that security operatives are being deployed into the forest to get rid of the bandits.

Samuel posted the message via his Facebook page, saying the governor have launched an Operation Harbin Kunama II’ that would help the military to deal with the armed criminals responsible for the attacks in Southern Kaduna.

He noted that the forthcoming Operation Harbin Kunama II is a necessary move in ending the violence in affected areas of southern Kaduna.
El-Rufai also asked for support from the communities to the security agencies as the Nigerian Army are about to commence a major operation tagged ‘Operation Harbin Kunama II’, which includes helping the Nigerian Army with vital information that could lead to a successful clampdown on the criminals responsible for this act of terrorism on our citizens.

A 50-year-old senior staff of Delta State University, Abraka was cruelly killed by alleged Fulani herdsmen on his farm on Friday, March 24/ 2017.

A Member Representing Ethiope East State Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Evance Ochuko Ivwurie, confirmed the occurrence of the sad incident in a statement released earlier today.

Read the statement below:

"Another of my Constituent, Mr. Sunday Idama, a Senior Staff of the Delta State University, Abraka- Library Department, 50 years with 14 children was brutally murdered by the ravaging Fulani Herdsmen on Friday in his Cassava farmland in Ovre Abraka.

“I have reported to the whole world that I was briefed by my constituents residing across Ethiope East Mainland; towns/villages and Ethiope East Hinterlands; Ovre-Eku/Abraka/Igun of the sighting by some of them of an unspecified Helicopter said to be dropping supplies in the same Ovre-Eku/Abraka axis.

“Since after my receipt of that brief, five of my Constituents namely Mr. Philip Akpine, Mr.Francis Okotie, Mr. Sunday Couple, Mr. Eyabigun Akpovena and Mr. Sunday Idama have all been slaughtered by this mercenaries; Fulani Herdsmen in their farmlands in Ovre-Abraka which is a safe haven, dwelling and business place for thousands of Fulani Herdsmen and their cattle.

“My people are helplessly susceptible, defenceless and vulnerable to this menace. The Herdsmen escapade and atrocities against my exposed constituents includes killing and Kidnapping them, maiming, raping and attacking them.

“It is estimated that we have over 2,000 Fulani Herdsmen and over 10,000 cattle in the various parts of the vast deserts- which many people have christened Ethiope East Sambisa Forest.

“I wish to appeal to the security agencies to visit the "Ethiope East Sambisa Forest" and properly investigate the activities of the criminal elements of the herdsmen and bring them to justice.

A 16-year-old boy, Obinna Iwuoha, has been allegedly shot dead by a trigger happy police Sergeant, Wilson Ufere on Thursday, March 23, at the unpopular "Ugwu Omiri Lawyer" on Anara - Umuahia expressway in the okohia community in the Isiala Mbano Local Government, Imo State.

The policeman allegedly went berserk by mudering the teenage boy while three others people went in coma, due to the injuries they sustained from the bullets he fired at them.

Reports gathered said that the terrible incident happened when youths, mainly teenagers who were in a rally for their church crusade which was scheduled to commence today, March 25, 2017, had a flat tyre, at “Ukwu Omiri lawyer”, which is a stone throw from where some police men were on a road duty.

One of the police officers maintained that the youths must remove their vehicle from the place, but the youths of Emmanuel Healing Power Ministry Incorporated, Uguiri, told the officers that they were unable to move a vehicle with a flat tyre.

An argument allegedly ensued between one of the police men and the driver, made the police officer allegedly slapped him consistently, up to three times.

Ufere, who was on the other side of the road and does not have any part in the argument, emerged from nowhere, shot at the young men at a close range, killing one of them while three others lost their consciousness.

Meanwhile, villagers have gathered at the residence of the late Obinna to mourn his death.
