President Buhari called ex-Civil Service head Fika today, over wife's death

President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently on medical vacation made a condolence call to Dr. Adamu Fika, a former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation over the loss of his wife, Hajiya Tasallah Fika.

Garba Shehu who is a media aide to the president has briefly confirmed a call made by President Buhari to Fika on the loss of his wfe on Tuesday, February 14 morning.

He said the president was depressed by Fika’s loss of a stong wife after many years of togetherness.
The statement reads:

"President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his sadness over the death of Hajiya Tasallah Fika, the wife of former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Adamu Fika, Wazirin Fika.

"In a telephone call from London to the bereaved Wazirin, the President said the loss of such a devoted wife of many years was particularly a painful and challenging moment in the life of any husband.

"President Buhari explained that as a family man himself, he understood the depth of pain Dr. Fika was going through at this time "having lost a great and invaluable companion of many years and that the deceased was one of the most devoted wives who was the pride of the nuclear family.

"While praying to Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest in peace, the President also wished Dr. Fika the fortitude to bear this enormous loss.”

However, the presidency has also disclosed that President Buhari may likely speak with Nigerians through phone a call soon after nearly four weeks of break in the United Kingdom.


Actually, this was coming from the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina during a live transmission series known as ‘political show’ aired on Channels television late on Monday, February 13.
