Tinubu opens up on President's health status

Chief Bola Tinubu, a Former Lagos State governor and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said only crazy people will say he never visited President Muhammadu Buhari in London.

In a statement released by Tinubu's spokesperson, Tunde Rahman, on Monday, said mischief makers were behind the news that he did not visit the President.

Tunde Rahman, said Tinubu was in London with Chief Bisi Akande, the former Interim National Chairman of the ruling party, to visit President Buhari and that they met the President at the Abuja House and not in any UK hospital, contrary to rumours of the president's death.

He said, “The report about the so-called denial of the visit is the handiwork of mischief- makers.

“I felt we should not dignify that with a response. That report beggars belief.

“Asiwaju Tinubu and Baba Akande were in London. The reason they travelled to the United Kingdom was to see President Buhari.

“And they visited him last Thursday and held discussions with him at the Abuja House in London.

“After the visit, the President, as a mark of respect, saw off his guests to the door.

“Pictures were taken during and after the visit and released to the media by The Presidency.

“These pictures were international headlines. How can anybody in his or her right senses be saying there was no such visit? It’s simply crazy!”

Also, speaking on the same matter, the current Governor of Ogun State, Mr. Ibikunle Amosun, has testified that Tinubu and Akande were really with the President in London.

President Buhari is said to be receiving treatment in London, however, the nature or type of ailment was disclosed.

Recall that, the picture showing Amosun and President Buhari in the London was said to be an old picture which was doctored to be like recent ones. Governor Amosun however denied such allegation.

While addressing the newsmen on Monday at an event at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Amosun said that he indeed visited the president in United Kingdom.
