The Nigerian Police Force has allegedly arrested about seven persons in connection to the purported attempt on Senator Dino Melaye's life, who represents Kogi West Central.
The suspects were apprehended by the Kogi state police command linked with the assassination attempt his life at his home in Aiyetoro-Gbede on Saturday, April 15, 2017, according the Punch.

It reported that a black SUV alleged to have been used for the assassination operation with some ammunition were retrieved by the Kogi state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday, April 17, 2017.
Senator Dino Melaye, on Saturday, April 15, 2017, escaped un-injured after unknown gunmen stormed his residence in his home town. They shot sporadically to the house and also destroyed 2 vehicles with bullets.
Meanwhile, according to reports, sources within the police, alleged arrest of the suspects at different locations in the state.
Also, the black SUV suspected to have been used during the operation attempts has been impounded by the Nigerian Police in Kogi state.
The security officials are also reported to be searching the communities within the state for the rest of the suspects as ordered by the command. The directive was to Taofiq Isa, the Ijumu local government area administrator.

Commenting on the issue, the Kogi state police public relations officer (PPRO) William Ayah, has noted that investigation is still ongoing.
Remember that the Senator involved in this issue, alleged that Isa was the one masterminding the assassination attempt on Saturday.
While Isa has refuted the accusation and said he was busy attending to his ill wife on the same day of the occurence.
“I’ve never been a violent man. My running battle with Dino if any is because I have asked him to stop vilifying the state Governor, Yahaya Bello," Isa said
